I am a telephone engineer by trade. Firstly in the R.A.F now working around Manchester.

Over the course of the past ten years, the boundary between telephones and computers has been blurring and merging. As a result I have been sent on a wide variety of computer courses to compliment my own experiences.

I have always had an interest in computers, I was originally self taught in the art of repair and building of systems.
I started on Windows 3.0 battled through Windows 95/98, had to learn NT Server, and have increasingly started to use Linux.

From small beginnings

I have for some seven years been offering advice to friends and colleagues alike on a casual basis. These friends have passed my details on to other friends and now I have a small "customer base" of loyal people who use and abuse my expertise from "just a question" to can you sort out my website or sort me out with a new computer...

Honesty?

As I earn a living (well sort of) as an engineer, this little project is done to help and assist those who would otherwise have to pay a lot of money to the more unscrupulous companies out there. I would much rather retain business and say "you do not need a new computer yet", than try and earn a fast buck.

I do not expect all this to be taken at face value, after all they could all say that.
I do have a list of local business people who you can speak to for impartial comments before undertaking any work.
